APLNG is a joint venture between ConocoPhillips (47.5%), Origin (27.5%) and Sinopec (25%). Their LNG production facility, on Queensland’s Curtis Island, is fed by upstream gas from the Surat Basin via a 530km export pipeline. As part of the LNG process, Waste Heat Recovery Units (WHRU) are critical to reducing plant waste and increasing efficiency. Routine NDE identified a build up of carbon within the WHRU impacting the units efficiency. After material analysis, elements of the system were replaced with 347H to mitigate those losses and improve the LNG Plant’s efficiency and emissions output.
LFF Brisbane was chosen to supply 347H finned tubes, pipes, fittings and flanges for the project. Access to leading and highly competent European mills, vast experience in the supply of piping products and a long running, successful, supply history to ConocoPhillips contributed to our success on the project.
