The Rotokawa Power Station is a geothermal power station owned and operated by Mercury Energy. It is located approximately 10 km north east of Taupo in New Zealand. The station uses a binary cycle power plant manufactured by Ormat Industries.
LFF New Zealand was chosen to supply the carbon and stainless piping for this upgrade which was undertaken to maximise generation at both the Rotokawa and Nga Awa Purua geothermal power stations by modifying the existing steamfield systems to address the declining field enthalpy. LFF New Zealand has a long established history of supporting the energy sector within New Zealand and particularly the geothermal power generation found through the centre of the North Island.
